I just downloaded and installed the demo.
When I try to run it, I'm confronted with an error message.
- "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail."
I don't even know where the event log is written to. It doesn't appear to be in either the Program Files folder or in ProgramData or the root folder.
I'm running Vista Ultimate (32-bit) with a Q6600 (at 2.7GHz), 4GB RAM, and a GeForce GTX260.

not sure where it is in Vista, but it means the Application Log which under XP can be found in Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer.
Guess in Vista you can just search for "Event Viewer" in the start bar :) Might give you some clues.
