In August, Dan Simmons of the BBC invited Chris CEO of Real Time Race to BBC TV Centre for a short meeting to discuss Real Time Race. 10 minutes turned into one and a half hours. Dan was hooked on the concept. Before Chris had left to catch his train home Dan had booked in his diary a date for filming a piece for the technology programme. Dan turned up at Lotus’s Hethel factory and private track, camera and tripod in hand eager to capture the essence of Real Time Race. He filmed the Real Time Race capture vehicle fully geared up with lasers, cameras and navigation equipment on the track with the lotus cars. He then visited the Head Office at Daresbury, Warrington to interview both Chris and Roderick. The filming is edited and broadcast practically within hours of each other. The programme is broadcast to 250 million viewers worlwide on 29th October 2009 and in the UK on the 31st October 2009 In the UK.
